What We Collect

Stored Locally on Your Device:

The core of your Era experience is stored directly on your device. We use onboarding information (such as your nickname, skin concerns, and environment) to personalize skincare insights and app content. This data remains on your device.

• Your skincare journal entries, routines, and progress photos
• Skincare products, ingredients, and routine settings you track
• Your nickname (used to personalize greetings)
• Skin-related information you choose to provide (such as skin type, concerns like acne or dryness, routines, and contextual environment details like pollution or humidity exposure).

Medical Disclaimer: Skin-related information logged in Era is for tracking and personalization purposes only. It is not medical data and should not be used for medical diagnoses or as a substitute for professional medical advice.

Anonymized Analytics (via PostHog):

We collect anonymized usage data through PostHog to analyze performance, feature adoption, and fix bugs. This data is pseudonymous and does not include your journal content, photos, or personal skin details.

• Which features you interact with (e.g., saving logs, rating mood)
• App launch frequency, session duration, and feature flows
• Crash reports, device hardware models, and operating system versions

Subscription Transactions (via RevenueCat):

If you subscribe to Era Pro, your transaction data is processed securely.

• Your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat (an Apple-approved service).
• We verify purchase logs from Apple, but we never see your payment details or personal journal content.

What We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Your journal entries or photos: These are stored locally on your device.
• ❌ Your name or email address: Unless you explicitly choose to contact our support team.
• ❌ Your exact GPS location: We only log general environmental factors (like UV index/humidity) for your selected general area, if provided.
• ❌ Personal data for advertising: We do not sell your data or share it with third-party advertisers.
• ❌ Photos processed by AI: Any photos analyzed by our on-device AI features (photo alignment, Stash product scanning) are processed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit. These photos are never sent to Google or any other external server.

Third-Party Services

To keep Era stable and secure, we use the following trusted providers:

• PostHog: Processes anonymized usage patterns and crash statistics. PostHog Privacy Policy →
• RevenueCat: Validates and maintains Pro subscriptions. They only see basic subscription tokens. RevenueCat Privacy Policy →
• Google ML Kit (on-device): Era uses Google ML Kit for two on-device AI features: face landmark detection (to help align your progress photos) and text recognition (to auto-fill product details when you scan a label in your Stash). Your Control

We believe you should have complete control over your data.

• Export & Import data: Era Pro subscribers can export their entire data log as a secure backup file directly from settings, and import it at any time to restore their journey.
• Delete data: You can reset or delete all local data from within the app settings. Uninstalling the app will also permanently remove all stored journal entries and photos from your device.
